About me

Hello, I'm Lucia, a jeweller originally from Tucumán, Argentina. I came to New Zealand two decades ago.

Since first coming to New Zealand, I was attracted to the landscapes of Central Otago, particularly Omarama, where I spend a lot of time with my family. I think that my style has been influenced by that stark and rugged environment that reminds me of the mountains in my hometown.

Under the guidance of jeweller David McLeod, I learned my skills over several years before setting up my own workshop.

I work each piece with care and attention to detail. I particularly enjoy working with gold and silver not only for their beautiful look and malleability but also because these are precious metals that connect to older times and peoples. I shape them into my own designs using traditional metalsmithing techniques and simple hand tools.

I work slowly and deliberatly. When you do jewellery by hand, every piece ends up coming out different and unique, although the ideas may be repeated.

I like making simple yet elegant designs that enhance the wearer's natural beauty without overpowering.
